While the great alliances each perfected their own way of life, the Neutral Alliance connected them all through its thriving cities and bustling trade routes. Yet as prosperity grew, so did disorder. Rivalries between settlements intensified, borders became increasingly contested and the once peaceful heart of the world slowly descended into political unrest.

No one witnessed this decline more closely than Aldren of Tollborg. As protector of the Neutral Alliance and guardian of the world’s roads, he believed peace could only survive through order. Convinced that the growing independence of the alliances would eventually lead to endless conflict, Aldren united the armies of Tollborg and marched into the Fray, determined to restore balance by bringing the world under a single authority.

The Fray lasted only a matter of months. Every alliance quickly discovered that fighting far from home came at a tremendous cost. The Barken struggled beyond their forests, the Froskar left behind the frozen lands that had shaped their strength, and the Shelari found themselves separated from the deserts that had always guided them. As losses mounted and thousands watched their people perish for a cause few truly desired, every side withdrew to its homeland. The Fray ended not because a victor emerged, but because no one believed the war was worth continuing.

The world that remained was fragile. Tollborg still held tremendous influence, while every alliance returned home determined to rebuild. Now, each faction seeks to prove that its vision offers the greatest path toward lasting peace. Some sought victory through conquest and bloodshed, others by securing the world’s most strategic positions with their finest warriors, while some chose to build immense wealth and earn the loyalty of the Neutral Factions through diplomacy and trade.
